This module allows for self-reflection, creation and the implementation of practices that will enrich learning.

Completion of all four or all five modules can earn teachers and leaders 42 to 50 professional development credits in the state of Illinois. Teachers and leaders seeking professional development credit must have Illinois licensure.

How do I claim my professional development hours?

Visit this page for instructions and information on professional development hours.

How is this different from other professional development opportunities?

Our approach is primarily asynchronous, with one-on-one support built in for community and connection. The tasks and content of the modules highlight practices that support culturally responsive teaching and leading.

Who made this professional development series (and further information)?

Dr. Marlee Bunch and the Culturally Responsive Teaching and Leading Design Team at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign created this professional development series.

The series aligns with the book The Magnitude of Us (Teachers College Press). We recommend purchasing a copy on Amazon or at the Teachers College Press website before starting the series, in order to maximize your engagement with the modules and learning content.

This professional development series is designed to help educators, pre-service teachers and leaders deepen their understanding and practice of culturally responsive approaches. Participants will engage throughout in self-reflection, recognizing that understanding one's self enhances our overall ability to understand and connect with others, which fosters growth and development. The series will utilize the un/HUSH Framework as a guiding tool to support your learning journey.
